El-P goes on heart attack inducing production rampage!

El-P and Mr. Lif are in the lab now working on the follow up to Mr. Lif's classic debut solo album I Phantom! The record will be produced almost entirely by El-P, with guest production by Oh-No and a few other esteemed producers. the as of now untitled album promises to be Mr. Lif's most incredible work to date, picking up on the gritty story telling and bboy social commentary that he introduced so savagely on I Phantom. The album will be wrapped and delivered on Feb. 1st, upon which El-P will finish not only his own follow up to Fantastic Damage, entitled I'll Sleep When You're Dead, but the next Cannibal Ox album as well. Stay tuned for a snippet of the new El-P produced Cannibal Ox song "From The Planet Of Eat".

Lots of news from the Def Jux stable this week....First off, as we reported last week, El-P is producing the new Mr. Lif record, but it will be FINISHED on Feb. 1st, not released. It's release date is spring '06....Actor Shia Le Boeuf has approached Cage about turning his life story into a feature film, in which Shia would star. Negotiations are on going..... El-P has recently finished remixes for Beck's "Scarecrow" (for Beck's Guerlito LP). El is also collaborating on a Gang Of Four remix with The Mars Volta..... Head Automatica is wrapping up a "Shoot Frank Remix" for Cage, while RJD2 just finished a remix for The Go! Team song "Huddle Formation"....RJD2's "Ghostwriter" is currently being used by ESPN as the theme song for their NBA promo campaign... Finally, El-P, along with Dan The Automator, is a guest of honor at the upcoming Sony Playstation's Kidapalooza event taking place in LA on Dec 10. El and Automator will instruct the kiddies on the finer points of beat-making and turntablism.
