Rapper Prodigy of Queens, New York based group Mobb Deep, pleaded guilty to gun charges yesterday (October 9).

Prodigy, born Albert Johnson Jr., pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a loaded gun in Manhattan Supreme Court and will spend the next 3-1/2 years in prison.

The rapper went on trial yesterday for the gun possession charges, after police stopped his bulletproof SUV last October for driving the wrong way down a Manhattan street, in an attempt to secure a parking spot.

Police found a .22-caliber gun in the armrest of the SUV.

Both Prodigy and producer The Alchemist were charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Charges against The Alchemist were later dismissed, but yesterday, Prodigy, 32, admitted to possessing the unlicensed .22-caliber gun.

Acum, un alt star international a dezvaluit ca se afla in spatele primului LP din ultimii 6 ani al `Regelui` – Kanye West. `Lucrez la cateva materiale pentru Michael Jackson. Accept sa colaborez cu cineva doar daca imi plac ideile respectivei persoane` a declarat Kanye West pentru The Sun.

Calling All Producers: Smif N Wessun Medley Contest!!
2007-10-10 - 2007-10-22CALLING ALL PRODUCERS:

Smif N Wessun are gearing up for the release of The Album, and they're offering their fans on HipHopDX a chance to "collab" with them.

Submit a three track medley using three sets of vocals from Smif N Wessun. These will be voted on by the HipHopDX community, narrowing it down to three finalists.But only one winner will be chosen by HipHopDX, Duck Down Records, and Smif N Wessun collectively.

The winning producer/contestant will receive a pair of IKEY M-606 Active Studio Monitors which are priced at $600.

Note: You are not required to use every verse from each of the tracks supplied. Be creative, innovative and deliver the best medley. Focus on transitions and breaks from one track to the next as tempos in Smif N Wessun's delivery and flow may vary from the three songs provided.

Enter your medley's asap! October 22nd is the Deadline for your submissions (one per contestant) and Voting begins October 23rd at HipHopDx.
The winner will be announced October 30th and have their track featured in our Audio Section!!

Also for those who want to video record their recording process, can submit your videos of everything you went through in making the medley. The top three videos will be aired on the HipHopDX Video Section.
